At least 1 month before your due date, order a cord blood collection kit from us. Your kit will be shipped directly to your home.
When you receive your kit, it is important to open it right away and go through the enclosed instructions.
2. Discuss With Your Caregiver
Bring your kit to your next OBGYN appointment and let your caregiver know that you plan on storing your baby's umbilical cord blood.
Store your kit with your hospital bag to be sure it goes to the hospital with you for the big day!
3. At the Hospital
Be sure to bring your collection kit with you on the big day! Once your baby is born, hand your collection kit to your OBGYN or nurse to extract the cord blood. It is important to work quickly once the blood is extracted.
Plan ahead who will be responsible for taking care your cord blood in the next step.
4. Overnight Your Kit with Prepaid Envelope
Place your kit with the collected blood in the enclosed envelope with the prepaid shipping label and arrange for FedEx pick up at the hospital. Your kit is sent expedited overnight to the AABB accredited lab we work with in New Jersey, for testing and processing,
5. At the Lab
Once your cord blood is received at the lab, after some initial testing you will be contacted via email. In about 3 weeks you will be sent a final report. Learn More About Our Lab.
After processing and testing, your cord blood will be securely stored and you will be automatically charged your annual storage fee.
